Filing in Korea

Filing patents, utility models, trademarks and designs is the most common IP work, but at INCUBE, attorneys with broad technical experience take great care from the filing stage to secure broad and strong rights. When drafting patent specifications in particular, we build on our technical expertise to add further embodiments to the client’s core idea, increasing the chances of registration and forming a tight scope of protection that strengthens the invention.

After filing, a patent application goes through several procedures before registration. We begin by receiving and reviewing materials about the idea, technology or invention from the inventor.

Once the decision to file is made, our patent attorney prepares drafts of the specification and related documents. The client and the attorney review the drafts together, and we file only after making sure everything is correct.

For applicants outside Korea, we act as your Korean agent for national phase entries (PCT), Paris Convention filings, office action responses and registration, working closely with your home attorney.
